Your home away from home … at the most beautiful time of the year
The Engels Park is located on the edge of the picturesque medieval town of Vipiteno in South Tyrol. The hotel is surrounded by a breathtaking 6,000sqm park – the cuore felice of our beautiful jewel. A place of strength and peace for mind, body and spirit.
Here at the Engels Park, the 4-star hotel in Vipiteno and cuore felice of South Tyrol, Italian and South Tyrolean cultures combine with Mediterranean and alpine lifestyles. Nature plays a crucial role at the Engels Park: our own nature, that of our surroundings, of our food and wellbeing.

After your sauna, walk barefoot across dewy grass or through tingling winter snow.
Bees buzz, butterflies dance in the wind, the treetops rustle, the frosty crystals crunch …
Fragrant flowers, the resin of deciduous trees and conifers, aromatic herbs, fresh snowy wind …

Cuore Felice in South Tyrol
The alpine town of Vipiteno isn’t just Italy’s most northerly town – it’s also the gateway to the lifestyles of the Mediterranean and South Tyrol. Here, among alpine pastures and palm trees, between the Alps and Dolomites, lies a jewel of hospitality, joie de vivre and love of nature. Perfect for finding your way back to nature and to yourself. Now and in the future.

Feminine Strength & Family Forte

The story of the Volgger family, of Paula and her eight children, of the Plunhof and the Engels Park is an impressive demonstration of what a woman can achieve in the most difficult of circumstances.

Paula Volgger, a miner’s daughter, began working at the Hotel Sonklarhof in Ridanna when she was just 14. Soon she was dreaming of running her own hotel.

Paula was 17 when she met Leopold Volgger. After starting their family, the couple focused on making her dream a reality.

Paula welcomed her first guests in 1979. Together the family beavered away, and even Leopold’s death at far too young an age couldn’t put the brakes on either their willingness to work or their courage.

With the Plunhof – in Ridanna, above Vipiteno – Paula and her eight children built a sanctuary like no other.

We are delighted to continue the story of the Volgger family, South Tyrolean hospitality, health and wellbeing here at the Engels Park.
